Heh, neat, I'm in Nieuwegein, Netherlands. I don't think we've met on any of those since I don't have any accounts on international skydiving sites. Only on a few local ones.

Stewards are foremost security people. I can see you as an instructor or manager. Steward I think is not what you’d expect of it, nor something I could imagine being of much satisfaction to you.

Oh and trust me, people will get on your nerve. At least I don’t have to look at them directly with my job.

Do stewards even get parachutes? that'd be fantastic. "Ladies and gentlemen, we will be pumping nitrous through your oxygen masks shortly so your crash will be really groovy. EHT person next to you can be used as a floatation device. If you experience a sudden drop in pressure, it's just your crew bailing. Byyyye!"

Heh, it’s interesting. Professionally, I’m an animal person. Dealing with the people is often the hardest part of my job, and the least pleasant. There are notable, wonderful exceptions that make me feel really good about working with clients, but asshats abound.

Best of luck with the flight attendant training — I’d definitely be interested in hearing/seeing what kind of anti-hijack sort of things they teach. I doubt the general public gets to know that stuff, though. ?

Astonishing as it may perhaps seem, professionally I'm very much a people person. I like making people happy. On an airplane, people are nervouse or eager to get where they're goig, or relieved they're going home. There's tons of obnoxious asshats, too, but I'll take the bad with the good. It's a temporary thing, and it sounds exciting to me.

Nono, that was a genuine question, not a veiled you’re-not-tall-enough implication — I actually have no idea how tall you are! Most of the times I’ve seen you, you’ve either been sitting, or sprawling, or I have; it’s hard to judge from those perspectives

And yes, air-stewards do tend to be tall, pretty, and rather homosexual in my experience — it’s not exactly a job-requirement, but it’s what the customer expects!
